Public Policies and Access to Funding
By completing this training, learners strengthen their ability to interpret public policy and apply it to destination strategy and project design, addressing the documented challenge of weak policy alignment and limited internal capacity for funding and operations. They gain practical competence to identify appropriate funding mechanisms (public grants, EU structural funds, PPPs, green bonds) and understand typical application and evaluation logic, supporting the needs analysis recommendation to streamline and improve uptake of EU/national funding—particularly for smaller actors. Finally, they build proposal-development capability through auto-validated tools that produce policy-aligned concept notes and stakeholder maps—helping DMOs operationalize “access to financial resources” as a core enabling condition for long-term investment and sustainable destination management.
