04 Critical factors for the tourism sector

Objective

To encourage participants to design tourism initiatives that contribute positively to ecosystems and communities.

Instructions

Participants work individually or in groups.

  1. Select a destination or tourism area.
  2. Identify:
    • Environmental challenges
    • Social or cultural challenges
  3. Brainstorm at least three regenerative tourism initiatives.
  4. For each initiative explain:
    • Positive environmental impact
    • Community benefits
    • Stakeholders involved
    • Long-term regeneration potential
  5. Present the strongest idea to the group.
