In this module, we focus on some of the most critical and operational dimensions of tourism management: how to measure, monitor, and manage tourism systems effectively.
Governance, communication, and entrepreneurshi require one fundamental capability: the ability to understand what is happening in a destination in a structured and measurable way.
Tourism systems are complex. They involve flows of people, use of resources, impacts on communities, and interactions with ecosystems.
Without tools to measure and monitor these dynamics, decision-making remains reactive and often ineffective.
This is why this module introduces three key pillars:
- Sustainability indicators
- Carrying capacity
- Monitoring and flow management tools
Together, these allow tourism professionals to move from intuition to data-driven and strategic management.
