The module aims to build a complete understanding of how tourism systems can be measured, controlled, and optimized through the following aspects: 

• Sustainability indicators, which provide the foundation for understanding tourism impacts in measurable terms.
• International frameworks, such as UNWTO, GSTC, and ETIS, which help standardize how these indicators are defined and used.
• Carrying capacity, which introduces the idea that tourism systems have limits — not only physical, but also environmental, social, and experiential.
• Monitoring tools and flow management techniques, including digital systems, real-time data, and behavioral strategies such as nudging.
